Ingredients to make poppy seed pudding
Poppy seeds – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Desi ghee – 1/2 cup
Almonds – 1 tbsp
Cashew – 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 3/4 tsp
Sugar – 1 cup

How to make poppy seed pudding
To make tasty poppy seed pudding, first clean the poppy seeds and soak them in water overnight. In the morning put poppy seeds in a strainer and remove excess water from it. Now put the soaked poppy seeds in a mixer jar and grind them by adding a little water. Now put the prepared paste of poppy seeds in a big utensil and keep it aside.

Now put ghee in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee becomes hot and melts, add poppy seed paste and fry it until the color of poppy seeds turns light golden. Keep stirring continuously while roasting the poppy seeds. It will take 3-4 minutes to roast the poppy seeds. Now add milk to poppy seeds and mix with the help of a spoon. After this add sugar as per taste to this mixture and let it cook.

Cook poppy seeds pudding until it starts leaving ghee. After this add chopped dry fruits (cashew nuts, almonds) to the halwa and mix. After this add cardamom powder to the pudding and mix it well. After cooking the pudding for some time, turn off the gas. Poppy seeds pudding full of taste and nutrition is ready. Pour it in a serving bowl and serve hot.
